DAKOTA HENDON

FOUNDER / PRINCIPAL

Dakota Hendon is the founding principal of HNDN, a specialized architecture studio focused on the detailed execution of high-end retail and bespoke residential environments. Drawing on over a decade of leadership in the luxury sector, Hendon has overseen the realization of flagship locations for some of the world’s most recognizable fashion labels in Miami and New York.

His design ethos is grounded in a rigorous history of civic leadership. In Miami, Hendon played a key technical role in the implementation of Miami 21, the first form-based zoning code adopted by a major US city. Following this, he served as a Design Manager for the City of New York’s “Build It Back” program. In that capacity, he directed a $300 million recovery effort after Hurricane Sandy, introducing the city’s first resilient modular housing systems.

At HNDN, this legacy of technical fortitude underpins a practice defined by architectural clarity, regulatory mastery, and a dedicated focus on craft.
